Togetherness

I walked through the woods blanketed by fog
the silence of the trees my companion
today

Hand in hand with solitude I strolled as

coquettish moonbeams skirted around us
today

On the bench of a small quaint coffee shop

we sat and sipped a steaming cup of tea
today

Cinnamon bread and marmalade jam teased

our tongues as giggling violet buttons watched
today

And not for the first time I take back home

solitude to share my elusive space
today.

The use of today renders a fine ephemeral emotion. I am honored.
